Tom was born in Greenwich to Donald and Dorothy Chase on May 29, 1954. He grew up in Norwalk, attending J. M. Wright Technical High School in Stamford. Immediately after high school, he served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked briefly as an auto mechanic before moving into the HVA/C field. Tom subcontracted for many companies in Fairfield County while establishing his own companies, T L Chase &Sons and All Seasons Energy.
In the little free time he had, Tom enjoyed restoring cars. He purchased a rusted out 1979 Chevy El Camino SS with rotted floorboards making it into a show car. Later in life, he meticulously rebuilt an abused 1993 Chevy Corvette. He took immense pride in his work, winning several trophies at car shows. Tom also liked to target shoot at the Ansonia Rod and Gun Club, where he served as a Range Officer.
Thomas never hesitated to put others first. He would drop everything to lend a helping hand to family and friends. Though gone too soon, his memory will live on in the countless funny stories and jokes he told. Tom’s generous spirit and ready humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents Donald and Dorothy Chase, his brother Ronald Chase, and his son Daniel Chase.
Left to honor his memory are his wife Patricia Chase, his son Stephen Chase and fiancé Katie Coiteux, his sister Rosemary Hosey and husband Frank, his grandson Jayden Chase, his nephews Tim Chase and Sean Chase, his nieces, Suzie Lang, Beth Plaskon, and Erin Phillips as well as Tom’s entire in-law family, the Casolas.
Visitation will be held on September 15 from 10:00 – 12:00 at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home from 12:00 – 12:30. Burial will take place immediately after at St. John’s Cemetery, 500 Moose Hill Rd, Monroe.
