Tom Lent

Thomas Joseph Lent passed peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2026; he was 80 years old. Tom was a loving, dedicated, and hardworking man of integrity who always put the needs of others before his own. Born in Derby, CT on July 6, 1946, he grew up and made his home in Monroe, CT, where he worked as a motorcycle General Manager for Sippin Cycle, later as an auto parts salesman for A & G Auto Parts, and finally as the Customs Manager for Baron Technology in Trumbull and later in Milford, where he retired after 20 years.

Tom was known for his love of cars, corny dad jokes, faith in his loving Savior Jesus Christ, and always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. Tom was a faithful member of the Covenant Church of Easton and spent many years in their healing and prayer ministry.

Tom was married to the love of his life, Gail (nee Lewis), for over 44 years and treasured the times they spent at Nahmakanta in Maine, staying at their favorite Bed & Breakfast in Niantic, CT, and many wonderful conversations over dinner at their favorite restaurants. He was a devoted and loving father to his children Jesse & wife Christina Lent, and Kyle Lent, who will dearly miss him and the life lessons he imparted to them. He took great pride in being a grandfather, known affectionately as Poppy, to his granddaughters Gabriella and Sophia Lent, and will be dearly missed by his favorite sister Ellen (Izzie) Acevedo. Tom is also survived by his children Rachel O’Rourke, Travis Lent, and Wyatt Lent.

Tom’s favorite memory was spending the summer in Spain when he was 11 years old with his beloved maternal grandparents José and Teresa Barrachina. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter G. & Teresa Lent, brother M. Timothy Lent, and favorite uncle, Henry (Hank) Barrachina.

Friends and family are invited to calling hours for Tom, which will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026 from 3-5 pm at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following at 5:00 pm in the Funeral Home.
