Victoria Zisk

Victoria S. Zisk, 80, of Monroe, died on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Born in Middletown, CT, the daughter of the late Theodore and Helen Stoica, she was raised in Bridgeport, CT, and graduated from Central High School. Vicki had a passion for clothes design and continued her education in New York City at Traphagen School of Fashion. Vicki moved into the world of fashion, and worked several years in the Garment District in New York City as a fashion designer. She designed and made numerous outfits for family, friends, and herself over the years. She also made wedding dresses; choosing materials, designing the gowns, and sewing the dresses, for her sister Gloria and her close friend, Tina, as well as designing her own gown. She later moved into the world of aerospace, and adapted to a career as a mechanical draftsperson. She met and married Stephen E. Zisk, Sr. moving to Monroe, CT, to raise her family. Vicki was a very devoted and supportive wife, mom, grandmother, and sister. She will be truly missed. Vicki cared dearly for her family and friends, always putting their needs before her own. She was a member of the Alter Rosary Society of St. Jude’s, Lakewood Estates Neighborhood Association, and participated in numerous charitable activities and functions. Vicki is survived by her loving sons, Stephen Jr. and his wife Kathy, and Paul and his wife Lori; two beautiful grandchildren, Heather and Michael Zisk, who were the sunshine of her life; two sisters, Elizabeth Salomoni, and Gloria Ganino; her brother, John Stoica; and many loving nieces and nephews . She was predeceased by her true love and husband, Stephen E. Zisk, Sr.; an infant daughter, Cheryl; and her brother, George Stoica. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 13th at St. Jude’s Roman Catholic Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike (Rte. 111) in Monroe, CT 06468. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Memorial Park, Harvester Road, Easton, CT. Donations in memory of Vicki may be made to St. Jude’s Roman Catholic Church.
