Bill was the former owner of Great Hollow Contractors. His warm smile and huge, larger-than-life personality will be missed by many. He had a passion for helping people and became known as a leader in the state, and beyond, advocating for the use of Medical Marijuana. People reached out to him from all over the world. He was always ready to listen and share his vast knowledge about the medicinal value of the plant.
Bill is survived by his mother Sally Cascella, his loving brother Brian MacDonald and his nephew that he adored, Alexander Weil. Bill leaves behind his Aunt Jean Casso (Wayne), his Uncles Robert Riga and Duffy Riga, and beloved cousins Jennifer Zultowski (Tom Zultowski), Kristine Riga (Alex Arias), Curtis and Christopher Casso and many loving extended family. Bill was predeceased by his father Ed MacDonald and stepfather Kenneth Cascella.
The family wishes to extend their deep appreciation to Bill’s cherished medical team Dr. Neal Fishbach, Dr. Dan Rudolph, Renee Moye APRN, the Medical ICU staff & physicians at Bridgeport Hospital that provided Bill with excellent and loving care. Special thanks to Jennifer Lockwood Iamiceli, respiratory therapist and lifelong friend that cared for Bill with clinical excellence and love as did the entire ICU staff. Bill was fortunate to maintain a circle of lifelong friends and new friends that he cherished.
Friends are invited to visitation on Thursday, January 4th, 2024 3-8pm, with a prayer service being celebrated at 6pm at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT.
