Winifred Middlebrook Vecsey Benko "Winnie", 93, Monroe CT passed into peace on December 18th at home. Born 11/30/20 in Fairfield she was the daughter of Elijah and Eliza Middlebrook and the seventh of 9 daughters. She was predeceased by May, Ann, Elizabeth, Edith, Ruth and Lila and is survived by Jean Pekar of Fairfield and Irene Linn of Borger TX. She was married to Joseph Vecsey from 1946 until his passing in 1981 and married to Andrew Benko in 1988 until his passing. She worked for State National Bank of Connecticut and regularly attended the Senior Center of Monroe to play cards with her buddies. Her hobbies included knitting, puzzles, cooking and getting out with friends. She is survived by her only child Virginia Vecsey a retired teacher.Abiding by her wishes there will be a graveside service at 10 am on December 30 at Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield. "One passes this way but once, so make it count." She did.
