I acquired this William Brewer painting from my brother in law, the late Marshal Caudle (architect) from Monroe, NC. It is among my few treasures. I apologize for the poor reproduction here which shows my reflection off the glass, but I did not want to take the painting out of its frame. I have enjoyed the painting for many years. I am sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry to hear that Mr. Brewer passed away. I was born in Monroe in 1959 and my grandmother was Mrs. H.E. Copple who loved Mr. Brewer's artwork, especially his watercolors. I inherited one of those watercolors of beautiful vibrant spring flowers and am going to have it reframed and displayed in my home here in S. California. I googled the artist and that's how I found out, and why I'm writing this today. He must've been an extraordinary man. My grandmother sure thought the world of him. Remembering him, Liz Barrett

I did not know Mr. Brewer personally but I believe he is the "local artist" my aunt, Lura Hinson Starnes, referred to when she spoke of a painting of hummingbirds he painted for her. She passed away July 17, 2011 at the age of 91. When she went from home, to assisted living to finally a nursing home that painting of the hummingbirds always went with her and now hangs in my home. My condolences for your loss

To The Brewer Family; I'm so sorry to learn of your loss. I have many fond memories of growing up as neighbors, playing with Bill and Bunky. I remember he taught me how to play chess, how to play golf, how to draw and sketch. I have a framed sketching of old Walter Bickett High School done by him.
He was a tremendous influence in my life, I appreciate and value his being there as I was growing up.My Best Wishes and Condolences to the family. Lou Sell
