Diane was born in Great Falls, Montana as the 1st child of Joseph and Vivian Darby. She was described as an amazing precocious child who loved life. Her greatest legacy in high school was that of a talented cellist. She attended college at Northern Montana College in Havre, Montana where she earned her degree.
She relocated to Seattle, Washington where she married Wylie Clark and gave birth to a beautiful daughter Wendy Jo, while working at Providence Hospital. She then made a career move to Virginia Mason Clinic and Hospital where she made so many friends. As Virginia Mason grew, so did Diane’s career as she opened a satellite clinic in Federal Way. It was the highlight of her career. She finished her career in a leadership role at the University of Washington Hospital in 2008.
The best phase of her life was glorious for her as she traded medical transcription work for the skills of a grandmother and it came easy for her. She found loving on her 3 grandchildren as the greatest of life’s fulfillment.
She leaves behind her precious boy cats, Alex and Bennie: her loving daughter, Wendy and husband Chad McCammon and 3 beautiful and treasured grandchildren: Joey, Brooke and Danica of Monroe. She also leaves behind brother Douglas Darby and wife Nadine of Fairview, Texas and a younger sister, Bonnie and husband Darryl of Canyon Lake, Texas. She also leaves a niece, Camille and her husband B.J. Antes of Dallas, Texas and a nephew, Zack Patrick and his wife Andrea and their 2 boys of San Antonio, Texas.
To all who knew her, she will sorely, missed.
