I met Diane in May 1984 when she interviewed me for a evening lead position. I thoroughly enjoyed working with her over the years. I could always count on some interesting comment to start my shift, something that always made me smile and laugh. She was a very special woman and friend whom I will miss terribly, but I have wonderful memories. Rest in peace Diane and may God bless her family.

Diane hired me in 1977 to work at Virginia Mason.  My fonest memories of her were her laugh and sense of humor.  I loved working with Diane.  My condolences to her family and friends.

Diane was my sister, my best friend, my support system, yet never asked for anything in return...her death leaves me heavy hearted, but the wonderful words from her friends and co-workers and my own memories of her fun-loving spirit is slowly lifting the burden and turning sadness to smiling thoughts of a beloved and treasured sister..

I worked at the UW and Diane was the day supervisor and I worked in the evenings. I loved to receive her emails about the status at work because she always had a very humorous way of expressing things. She was fun to be with and I'll miss her!

I was hired by Diane at Virginia Mason Medical Center when there were only 50 physicians.   Diane was the best supervisor and made sure that I fit in, as I was younger than the other medical transcriptionists.  She was hilarious and could have been a stand up comedian.   I will always remember her lunches at Vito's.   She will be missed.

I live in the "b" building and visited with Diane as often as I could.  Meggie (my dog) would not let me pass without a visit that I believe Diane enjoyed.

I may have been the last one to speak with her on Tuesday evening prior to her passing.  We were sitting on the bench in front of her unit.

I had commented on the cloud formations and she spoke of her mother, who encouraged Diane as a child, to look up and see the faces in the clouds.

She had a great love for her family and her grandchildren and was always interested in things new, current events and the book she was currently reading.  

We had some truly good laughs and I will miss our chats very much.  Meggie is still looking to the location of the bench when we go walking in the evening and I know she too, will miss the loves and treats offered her.

She was a very sensitive, kind hearted lady.

Diane was the type of person who warmed your heart.  Always knew what to say to cheer one up.  Her sense of humor was phenomenal.  My sympathies to all who had the love and friendship of such a wonderful person in their lifetime.  She will be missed.

I too was hired by Diane at UWMc in the summer of 2000, after passing the litmus test that one "had to love cats" (I assured her my cat had come into the household before the dog, not sure where the interview was going to go from there...).  She was a Character.  When a new policy needed to be established, she would listen to all the suggestions (or appear to anyway), then take her decision and issue an invariably hilarious, lengthy e-mail describing all possible scenarios and how they should be handled, always noting the possible pitfalls and absurdities in the very most witty detail.  She had incredible talent and I always wondered why she hadn't been a writer. She was equally expressive without using words, as in the famous Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum episode, when she made the most absurd face and wry eyes, while teetering a bit back and forth in her costume, as she dryly noted that Kathy had told her that *she* would be Tweedle *Dum*. She was such a character, much loved by all and very missed. My deepest sympathy to her family.  I'm sure you'll feel her about you though - she loved you too much to stray far.

I forgot to sign my name on my tribute!! I'm the one that mentioned about Halloween.  Diane always told me she would never let me choose costumes every again.

Diane hired me at Virginia Mason in 1975 and then at the UW in 2000.  She was a wonderful friend for so many years.  She  visited our home on Whidbey Island a few years ago for a crab feed, and I am glad we had the chance to share our love of seafood.  I will miss her laughter and wit. I had worked at the UW for quite a long time before Diane became my supervisor. Needless to say, once the word got around that they had hired a new supervisor the speculations of what she may be like were endless. Unbeknownst to us at that time, they had hired the nicest most kindhearted person I have ever met. Diane was a wonderful supervisor with a quick wit, endless anecdotes, and was very caring about her employees. If you had a problem, she would go out of her way to try to accommodate you. She was a very empathetic and understanding person and a joy to work with. She will be missed terribly by her friends, family and anyone who was lucky enough to have known her.

My fondest memory of Diane is one year on Halloween at work (we worked together as co-supervisors).  I always like to dress up and one year I made her dress up with me as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.  You should have seen the staff when we walked in with our matching outfits and beanies on!  Hilarious!!

My thoughts and prayers are with Diane's family.  I am glad she got to spend so much quality time with those grandchildren she spoke so highly of!  I worked with Diane at UW and enjoyed that time greatly.  Diane - your smile and love will be greatly missed.

My deepest sympathy to Diane's family.  I moved next door to Diane last April and quickly became friends with her.  She was very outgoing and funny and we shared many similarities in our lives.  She would always be sitting out in her yard when I came home after work and we would discuss the days events and our cats and what kind of mischief they had been up to.  I will truly miss her. She was a wonderful lady.

I had the opportunity to work with Diane for many years at Virginia Mason and it was an absolute joy. She was smart, delightfully irreverent, and always one of my favorite people. I will miss her. My sympathy to her family and lovely grandchildren.

I will miss her laughter, her encouragement, her nagging, and just knowing that she was THERE.  We've been friends for 25 years and yet it seems like just yesterday that we met.  She leaves a big hole in many people's lives, especially those beloved grandchildren.  All my love to everyone who knew her and who will miss her.

My thoughts and prayers are with Wendy, Chad and Diane's three beautiful grandchildren.  I was hired by Diane at UW and always thanked her for it.  She was thoughtful and kind to me and my daughter and always a positive reinforcement. My condolences to her family and friends.
