On October 17, 2011, at the age of 87, Edith Elizabeth Lee Andrews "Betty" passed away. She was born to James and Era Lee in Everett WA on February 29, 1924.
Betty is survived by her brothers, Bud and Michael Lee; her children; Jann (Brad), Jim (Lisa), Renee (Rob), Tracy, Lori (Bill); and daughter-in-law, Brianna. She was also blessed with eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; and sisters, Peggy, Pat and Donna.
Betty worked for years at the Monroe Post Office before retiring with Leonard and traveling with friends Hank and Corrine Kruse. She loved volunteering with a group of friends, making and selling crafts to benefit Children's Hospital. All you had to do was ask and she would deliver; there wasn't anything Betty couldn't sew and she loved doing it. She will be remembered for her beloved sock monkeys she made for years, even if they may be missing an arm or leg by now. Christmas divinity, salmon patties, Halloween costumes, matching Christmas pajamas, apple pies, camping at Entiat, roosters and owls are just a few things that remind us of her and make us smile.
Please join us for a celebration of life and share your memories of our mom. It will be held November 12 from 1-5 p.m. at her daughter Jann's house@ 22605 Yeager Rd. Monroe, WA.
Arrangements under the direction of Purdy & Kerr with Dawson Funeral Home, Monroe, WA.
