He was preceded in death by his brother John Francis Fitzpatrick and his son Edward Paul Fitzpatrick.
He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Shirley, his daughter Peggy Dewey, daughter Maureen Fitzpatrick and son, Steve Fitzpatrick.
He left behind four grandchildren, Mark Dewey, Kevin Dewey, Lauren Fitzpatrick and Rachel Fitzpatrick.
Our Dad was truly an extraordinary man. A loving husband, devoted father, Marine, engineer, artist, science fiction writer and possessed a passion for life that we will never forget.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St Mary of the Valley Catholic Church in Monroe on August 25, 2017 at 11:00.
