Mary was raised in Sultan with 4 sisters and brothers. She married Emil Anderson on April 21, 1946 and together they raised four children. They were married for 65 years. She was an active member of the Wagner Grange, Tualco Grange, Monroe Historical Society, East County Senior Center and she was also a member of Pocahontas. She worked during World War II making parts for military vehicles. Mary was a homemaker until 1962 when she worked for 17 years at the Everett Herald delivering newspapers in the community of Monroe; she then went to work for Jeno’s Restaurant as a dishwasher. Mary also worked 17 years at Delta Rehab as a nurse’s aide and housekeeper. Mary retired in 1988.
She leaves behind her 2 sons and the spouses, Joe and Liene Anderson, Nels and Leona Anderson: 2 daughters and their spouses, Sharon and Wade Walter, Juanita and Rob Scharf, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 6 great great- grandchildren and numerous cousins and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Emil and 3 grandsons.
Mary will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
There will be a double Memorial Service for both Emil and Mary Anderson on April 28, 2012 @ 11am @ Purdy& Kerr w/Dawson Funeral Home in Monroe, WA.
A Potluck Reception will follow at the East County Senior Center in Monroe, WA.
