He was born March 7th, 1932 in Perry, Iowa to Clarence W. Brooks and Colista Dever Brooks. He attended school in Iowa. As a young man Hal served in the Navy. He traveled the world while in the Army. He was proud of his tours of duty in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Hal retired from the Army in 1978 and moved to Sultan with his wife Lois. Hal enjoyed spending time doing woodwork, keeping a garden and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. In his later years, he always enjoyed a trip to the casino.
Hal is survived by his daughters Sherrie, Vickie, Debbie, Cindy, Brenda, Pamela, son Brian and his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his siblings Jimmy, Brian, Leslie, Joyce, Bernice, Jackie and Margaret.
