Harriet Pearl (Terpstra) Lampers, age 94, passed from this life into her eternal home in Heaven on June 25th, 2022, after a recent fall and years of battling dementia. As a family we rejoice that her mind and body are made whole again. She was born on January 22, 1928, in Ogilvie, MN to Richard and Agnes (Dykstra) Terpstra, the 4th of 5 sisters who grew up on a farm in rural MN.
She spent several years working as a nurse’s aide at hospitals in MN and MI before attending the Reformed Bible Institute in Grand Rapids, MI. After graduating, she continued to work as a nurse’s aide while taking additional college classes at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI before deciding that her calling was to be a teacher. She taught 1st and 2nd grade for several years in MN before moving to WA in 1963 to teach at Monroe Christian School.
While living in Monroe, she met and married the love of her life, Dean Lampers. They were married almost 54 years, spending most of those year in Snohomish. They were both very active in their church with faith and family being her top priorities and joy.
She deeply enjoyed singing in various choirs and choruses as well as singing duets with her husband for special events and loved playing the organ and piano. Other hobbies included sewing, making cards, gardening, canning and being outside in nature.
Her heart was devoted to the Lord, and I am sure she is rejoicing that she has finished her service her on earth.
She was extremely proud of her 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and loved to share pictures and stories of them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters and numerous other family and friends.
She is survived by her devoted husband Dean, daughter Twila (Ron) Zard; grandchildren Caleb (Monica) Zard; Kendria (Colin) Fisher; Taryn Zard and great-grandchildren Oliver and Riley Zard.
