Herbert L. Dake, born January 6, 1922 in Weston Mills, N.Y. , passed away on August 1, 2016 in Monroe, Washington. A resident of Edmonds,Washington from1954 to 2010, Herbert “ Herb” proudly served in the US Navy in WWII aboard the USS Maryland. A survivor of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, he served as a past president of the Snohomish County Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. He was self-employed, an excellent carpenter and contributed to the building and renovation of hundreds of homes.
Herb is survived by his 4 sons; Bill (Mary Jane) Bellevue, Tim (Sheryle) Arlington, Dan (Dianne) Woodinville, and Terry (Tanya) Monroe, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Velma Dake, 3 brothers and 1 sister. There will be a private memorial for family and friends. He and his wife will be interred at Tahoma National Cemetery.
