

Howard Elza Durant, III, born November 4, 1972 in Everett, WA, departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 8, 2016 in Everett, WA. He was 43. Howard graduated from Monroe High School, Class of 1992. He was a sergeant at the Washington State Reformatory in Monroe and had worked there for 20 years. An avid outdoorsman, Howard enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends, camping, watching the Mariners and the Seahawks, Star Trek, and listening to rock music. Howard is survived by his fiancée MeLissa Stolte of Everett, his daughters Samantha, Victoria, Elizabeth, Chloe, and their mother Summer all of Sultan, his mother Pauline Andrews Durant and his twin brother Aubrey Durant of Sierra Vista, AZ, sisters Dottie Simoni (Bob) of Monroe, Cindy Johnson (Donald) of Monroe, and brothers Ralph Durant (Ali) of Montreal, Canada, and Bryan Durant of Las Vegas, NV. He leaves seven nieces and four nephews. Howard joins his dad in Heaven, Paul Lee Durant who preceded him in death in 2010. A celebration of Howard’s life will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 11AM at Purdy & Kerr with Dawson Funeral Home, 409 W. Main St., Monroe, 360-794-7049, purdykerr.com.
