

James William Martin (Jim) passed away at home on November 23, 2016. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Oscar and Leora Martin on March 9, 1933. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lois; two children, Dale Martin and MariLee (Terry) Fronsman; five grandchildren, Catlin (Tim) Wallace of Australia, Casey (Julia) Martin, Carter (Jenny) Fronsman, Corey Fronsman, and Cody (Bree) Martin who all reside in the greater Lake Stevens, WA area; five great-grandchildren, Eloise and Jesinta Wallace, Pax Fronsman, Enzo Martin, and Ryder Martin; niece, Sandra Wood; nephew, Robert Wood; and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia (Steve) Dixon in 2008, two sisters, Carlene and Betty; three nephews, Craig, Ronald and Robert Powers. Jim loved to camp, hike, fish, hunt, and had projects galore, including building three of his homes, as well as the Lake Stevens Assembly of God Church, where he was a long-time member and served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Royal Ranger Leader for many years. He liked to travel with Lois (family) and ventured to all but five of the states in the US, as well as Australia, Fiji, Canada, and Mexico. He and his wife spent winters in Arizona for 15 years. Jim attended Everett High School and served in the US Navy for a total of five years. He was stationed in San Diego, CA on the USS Prairie AD from 1953-1955 and toured Asian countries. Jim retired from Scott Paper in 1990 after 37 years as a Professional Painter. He was a loving, faithful and devoted husband, father, grandpa, and friend to all who knew him. Jim's home was always open for coffee and a sweet treat. His family rejoices knowing that he has joined his daughter, Cyndie Lou, and is now with his Lord and Savior, along with all the family and friends who have gone on before him. "Life will never be the same without you, but we look forward to the day that we can give you a big hug, get a piece of licorice from you, and hear you say "Pull my finger!" We know that you will be waiting to do a "little jig" as one by one, we come to join you! We Love You!"
