It is with heavy heart we announce the passing of our Dad, James Arthur Millsap. 1938 to 2018 at the age of 80. Born the son of Bertha Pellham Usibelli in Phelps City, MO, eventually residing as a long-time resident of Monroe, WA. Dad was the youngest child in the line of ten siblings all of which preceded him in death along with his mother. Nicknamed Sonny growing up, Dad was known by most as Jim.
Dad served our country in the Navy September 1955 and finished his dedication on his birthday in May, 1959. He worked Air Traffic Control aboard the USS Shangri-La which was one of 24 Essex-class aircraft carriers completed during or shortly after World War II for the United States Navy. Decommissioned in 1947 and recommissioned in 1951 before Dad took leave in 1955.
Dad had a big heart, pleasant smile, and a sense of humor to no end. He loved his family and extended family and friends, far and wide. He enjoyed fishing, camping, car racing, and numerous other activities.
He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend Patsy of 31 years, his children Jay Millsap, Stacy & spouse Fred Willcutt, Chris & spouse Teresa Millsap, Mike & spouse Cindy Millsap, Sheila & spouse Don Morris, Pam & spouse Dan Willyard. He also leaves behind 11 Grandchildren and their spouses, 7 Great Grandchildren, and his four-legged daughters Nikki and Lucy.
As per his desire, there will be no services in his name. He asked that we celebrate his life within our hearts and together as family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
