

In the early morning hours of Christmas, December 25, 2022, John Gideon passed away peacefully at his home in Sultan, surrounded by family. He lived with pancreatic cancer for 6 months and was only 71 years old.
John was born April 23, 1951 in Raymond, WA to T.E. Gene and Marvel Gideon. He was the first of three children. He graduated from Bothell High School in 1969. John went on to join the Seattle Fire Department in 1977 and retired after 35 years. He worked downtown at Station 2 and drove the ladder truck. His fellow firefighters will mourn his loss deeply.
John stayed active throughout his life by keeping up with his many hobbies. He loved to ski, hike, ride motorcycles, and support his grandchildren by attending their sporting events.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Marvel Gideon; ex-wife, Judy Gideon; niece, Audrey Rose Barnes; as well as other family members and friends that he loved and wished to see again.
John leaves behind his father, Gene Gideon; daughter, Stacie Acosta (Garrett); son, David; grandchildren, Caden, Bryson, and Adelyn Acosta, and Nolan Gideon; sisters, Joni Gideon, and Janice Barnes (Rick); niece, Nicole Miller (Torrin); and nephew, Jesse Barnes, and many others who were impacted by John and will miss him greatly.
