John Lee Story

John Lee Story, born January 2, 1940 to Dick and Ada Story in Caldwell, ID, departed this life on April 13, 2018 in Monroe, WA. He was 78. John proudly served his country in the US Army. He later worked as a very skilled and talented carpenter for many years. John was a board member of the Everett Rock and Gem Club. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, camping, fishing, being in the outdoors, and in his younger years, waterskiing. He was a great bowler. John is survived by his wife Arlene G. Story of Monroe, daughters Janine Elf and her husband Andrew of Greenbank, WA and Jayna Maynard of Fountain Hills, AZ, son John Story of Rockport, WA, sisters Carol Howery of Fort Collins, CO and Goldene Durrington of Sacramento, CA, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers, 2 sisters, and both his parents. A memorial service celebrating John’s life will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 2PM at Purdy & Kerr with Dawson Funeral Home, 409 W. Main St., Monroe, WA, 360-794-7049.
