Michael Richard Manson, born November 16, 1942 in Bremerton, WA, departed this life surrounded by his family, in Kirkland, WA on June 2, 2018. He was 75. Mike proudly served his country in the Air Force, specializing in air weather service. He later worked for many years as a transmission engineer with GTE. After his retirement, he was jokingly referred to as the “weatherman and telephone operator”, as he was quick to answer the phone. Mike enjoyed his retirement and having more time for the things he loved – being with his family and friends, helping others, fishing, and the love of gardening. Mike is survived by his loving wife, Benita, son Scott Manson (Stephanie) of Moscow, ID, daughters Teresa Daniels (Ed) of Gig Harbor and Annette Smith (Lannie) of Puyallup, sisters Pam Causey (Jerry) of Walla Walla and Connie Manson of Olympia, and grandchildren Matthew, Eleanor, Josh, Nicole, Isabelle, and Adelyne. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Elaine Manson. A memorial service honoring Mike’s life will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 3PM at Purdy & Kerr with Dawson Funeral Home, 409 W. Main St., Monroe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Booth Gardner Parkinson’s Care Center, 12039 NE 128th St., #300, Kirkland, WA 98034.
