Myrtle Elsie Vannoy
November 12, 1926 – June 30, 2018
When I quit this mortal shore and mosey around this earth no more, don’t sigh, don’t grieve, don’t sob, I may have struck a better job. Don’t go and buy a large bouquet for which you’ll find it hard to pay. Don’t stand around me looking blue, I may be better off than you.
Myrtle loved her family, and her greatest joy was family gatherings. She leaves her children, Dwayne and Mary, Kandis and Richard, Ward and Jocelyn, “special daughter” Diana and Gary, step-daughter Sandra, grandsons Patrick, Philip, and Adam, granddaughter Courtney, 6 great-grandchildren, and many step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Dayne, brothers Harland and Kenneth, sisters Ione and Gloria, and her parents Mary and Oscar Meyers.
Myrtle loved the Lord, her family, children, chocolate, music, books, and hydrangeas. She had an inquisitive mind and loved to experience new things. She believed that it is not how much we give, but how much love we put in the giving. She traveled a great deal and enjoyed seeing places she had read about as a child. She loved the musical theater and for years had season tickets to the Paramount Broadway Productions. She loved the Ballet and Opera. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed taking part in their activities. She was a Mariners, Seahawks, and Washington Huskies fan. When she couldn’t see the games in person she enjoyed watching them on TV.
She spent much time doing her family genealogy. She was a life member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was active in church activities. She graduated from Snohomish High School in 1944 and attended Rogers Business College. She was born November 12, 1926 in Snohomish, WA and died June 30, 2018 in Monroe, WA. At her request, a family graveside service will be held at the GAR Cemetery in Snohomish. A memorial service honoring Myrtle’s life will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 1PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 17332 Tester Rd., Monroe, WA 98272.
