Olaf Martin Eriksen, Jr, a longtime Gold Bar resident, departed this life unexpectedly on June 22, 2017 in Gold Bar, WA. He was 71. Olaf and his twin sister, Margaret, were born February 18, 1946 in Seattle, WA. Olaf had worked for many years as an inspector with Boeing. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, and tinkering in his shed. Olaf is survived by his loving wife, Donna, children Wendy Benjamin, Taura Schlicker, Lorie Chavez, and Greg Eriksen, numerous siblings, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren including DJ Wikstrom, Kiasa Tresidder, Colby Benjamin, Aryion Schliker, and The Cowgirl, and countless nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Troy Eriksen in 1989. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27th, from 4-7 pm at Purdy & Kerr with Dawson Funeral Home, 409 W. Main St., Monroe, 360-794-7049. Olaf will be laid to rest the next day, Wednesday, June 28th, at 2 pm, at Sultan Cemetery. A celebration of his life will follow at Gold Bar Elementary School at 4 pm.
