Raymond Floyd Renk

Raymond Floyd Renk, born on October 3, 1936, in Fargo, North Dakota, fell asleep in Jesus on July 26, 2026, at the age of 89. We rest in the blessed hope that he now sleeps peacefully, awaiting the resurrection morning when Christ will call His children forth to eternal life.

Ray lived a life marked by service, faith, and devotion. As a young man, he served honorably in the United States Army, carrying with him a quiet strength and steadfast sense of duty. After completing his service, he built a successful career by owning and operating his own insurance business, helping families prepare for the future with care and integrity.

Ray’s greatest joys were found in the simple, meaningful rhythms of life. He loved spending time with the Lord, studying the Bible, praying and sharing with others. He found joy in caring for his horses. His hands were rarely idle: he delighted in playing stringed instruments, filling his home with melodies; he practiced leatherwork, crafting pieces with the same care and steadiness that shaped his life; and he nurtured his garden, coaxing beauty from the soil season after season. And above all, he cherished time with his family. Whether sharing a meal, a conversation, or simply being together, Ray’s presence brought warmth and steadiness to those around him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Renk (his Southern Belle); his daughters Julie Eastman and Kathleen Hilde (Ron) of Stanwood; his sister Carol Howard of Snohomish; his grandchildren Jared, Jeffrey, Jenelle, and Jessica; and his great granddaughter Ellie, who brought him special joy in his later years.

Ray was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. His kindness, humility, and faith touched everyone who knew him. While we grieve his absence today, we do not grieve as those without hope. We look forward to the day when Christ returns, the trumpet sounds, and Ray awakens — whole, restored, and reunited with those he loved. Until that glorious morning, he rests in the peace of God’s keeping.
