November 3rd, 1951 – June 8th, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Allen Anonson, who passed away on June 8, 2025, at 11:45 PM at Evergreen Health Hospice Care in Kirkland, Washington.
Born on November 3, 1951, in Seattle, Washington, Rick grew up near Ross Park, nestled between Ballard and Fremont. He spent the majority of his life in Monroe, Washington, where he lovingly raised his four children. Rick dedicated 50 years to a remarkable career with Seattle Disposal, Rabanco, and Cedar Grove Composting. He began as a garbage man and, through hard work and dedication, rose to the role of Operations Manager. Throughout his career, Rick served in numerous capacities and earned the respect of all who worked with him.
Outside of work, Rick was a passionate collector of classic cars, especially proud of his beloved ’55 Chevy. He also raised and cared for horses and other animals in his spare time. Known for his resourcefulness and wisdom, Rick was a natural problem-solver who took pride in helping others navigate life’s challenges with thoughtful guidance.
Rick’s greatest joy came from time spent with family and friends. He truly cared about others and always enjoyed hearing how your day was or simply catching up. Your absence will always leave a Tear in My Beer, but your work ethic and grit will forever be a Family Tradition.
Rick was predeceased by his sister Cindy and brother Larry. He is survived by his sisters, Linda and Becky; his children, Rose (Jeff), Erin (Zach), Chester (Hannah), and Ricky (Kelsey); his grandchildren, Corbin, Katelyn, Madeline, Ethan, Anna, Ocean, Odin, Henry, and Magnolia; and his great-grandchildren, Erik and Hadassah.
A Celebration of Rick's Life will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 11AM-1PM at Golden Gardens Bathhouse, 8498 Seaview Pl NW, Seattle, WA 98117.
