Richard Allen Morris

June 27, 1945 – July 14, 2024
Obituary of Richard Allen Morris
IN THE CARE OF

Purdy & Kerr with Dawson Funeral Home

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Richard Allen Morris, after many years of courageously living with multiple health issues, passed away on July 14th, 2024, in Kirkland, WA.

We have already received a great outpouring of love and wonderful stories with people remembering what a kind, funny, loving person he was.

In his 79 years here on Earth, he embodied the spirit of a Renaissance Man. Richard was talented at everything he put his hand to. A few highlights of his life include being a devoted born-again Christian who was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Dillon, Montana. Richard proudly served his country as an Air Force Vietnam veteran. He was a skilled Air Traffic Controller at many beautiful airports in the United States. He later found success as the owner of a thriving automotive sales lot and he owned and operated Faded Glory, his own Auctioneer business. Richard volunteered tirelessly across the United States with SOWERS and offered his services freely for many charitable causes, including Wounded Warriors.

Richard remodeled many homes (he was a fixer-upper before it became popular). There wasn’t a homeowner responsibility he couldn’t handle. Late in life, Richard discovered a natural talent for crafting unique furniture pieces that reflected his creative vision.

First and foremost, however, Richard was kind and sincerely loved and admired. He is survived by his devoted and grieving wife of 57 years, Cathy Kiah-Morris, his two daughters, Cassandra Avery Morris of Kalispell, MT, and Andrea Morris Belanger (Gary), of Snohomish, WA, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Roger Lee Morris.

Richard's legacy of love and his many accomplishments will be celebrated in a memorial service to be held at a future date in Dillon, Montana. Details will follow.

Richard Allen Morris will be fondly remembered for his remarkable life, his boundless generosity, and the lasting impact he made on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
