No matter what was going on in her life when she got to her “happy place” her mood instantly changed for the better.
Sheilah was a hard worker all her life. Her resume was extensive to say the least. After high school she worked in retail at The Bon Marche’, learned to climb phone poles and prewired houses for a private contractor and then moved on to G.T.E. after that The John Fluke Company. Worked with her father and brother at M&R Construction (the family business at the time) on homesites where she learned to drive dump truck and operate heavy equipment. Also, at Monroe Sand & Gravel. In the Late 80’s and into the 90’s she was in the laborer’s union local 292. Worked for many companies including Lakeside Ind., Skanska, Scoccolo Const., Hoffman Const. (at the special offender’s unit of Twin Rivers Correctional facility) and Atkinson Const. Doing everything from general labor, truck driver, roller operator, traffic control, fire watch and anything else that was asked of her. She also worked with Gordon and Brett MacDonald at their family excavation company PNCX inc. in the mid 90’s doing general labor, traffic control and operating heavy equipment. During this same time, she was also running her own business selling antiques and collectibles in Snohomish, WA. called “The Secret Room.”
Her hobbies included music, fast cars, reading, pinball, watching the news & arguing with anyone she could about politics, hated Donald Trump, loved her casino time and especially the ocean. She was quoted as saying “I could eat fish every day.” Even though during her pregnancy the smell of fish being cooked made her nauseous.
Sheilah loved animals of all sorts from feeding the wild squirrels, birds, deer, racoons and even the coyotes around their home. She was especially close to all the dogs she loved over the years Honey, Kiyi, Ruff & Tuffy, Fergie, Shithead (Andrew), Tilly And Millie. Also rescued and raised a baby crow (Vincent), two adolescent squirrel’s and a baby chipmunk over the years.
The family would like to thank her cousin Sharron Sutton, her sister in-law Susie Lapic (Team Leader) and Hospice care Kirkland for being there and loving her so much through this terrible disease.
