Our beloved mother, Shirley Lind Trombley passed away as graciously as she lived on October 6, 2025. Shirley was born on October 30, 1933 in Monroe, Washington to Swedish immigrants, Martha and John Lind.
Shirley was the heart and soul of our family, always loving and supportive of her husband, Tom, and their eight children, 19 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She cherished traditional holiday gatherings which were eagerly anticipated by family and friends. Shirley was an amazing baker. Her cookies and home made apple pies were legendary. She enjoyed traveling, reading, quilting, and playing cards.
Shirley’s beautiful smile and unconditional love will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Our mother was a true role model whom we will always look up to. It is difficult to summarize a life like our Mother lived in a few short paragraphs. She had an innate sense of what truly mattered. Relationships. Be you family or friend, she cared deeply and treasured every visit and every occasion for connection. She was an extraordinary woman.
Shirley is survived by her children, Steve (Terry), Suzanne Mayfield (Bruce), John, Tim (Genny), Terri Darnelle, Russ (Joy), Greg (Anita). Additionally, her sister-in-law, Cathy McCain, cousins, many nieces and nephews, friends, and extended family.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, and daughter, Jane.
Shirley’s Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 from 1:00-4:00 at Evergreen State Fairgrounds located at 14405-179th Ave SE, Monroe, Washington.
In lieu of flowers, Shirley would encourage you to donate to Sky Valley Food Bank or a special charity of your choice.
