Stephen Craig Bennett, born August 12, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on November 24, 2014 in Monroe, Washington. He enjoyed mushroom hunting and gourmet cooking, hiking, gem stone hunting, antiques, and spending time with his loving family and friends. Stephen is survived by his wife, Lauren “Rachel” Wills, daughters Morgan Bennett of West Seattle and Alexandra Bennett of Lynnwood, step-daughters Mary Cole of Shoreline and Julia Wills of Seattle, brothers James Bennett of Salem, OR, Michael Bennett of Birmingham, AL, Phillip Bennett and Wayne Bennett of North Carolina, and granddaughter Seqoia Martin. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Bennett, on November 6, 2013. A celebration honoring Stephen’s life will be held at a future date. Memorials in his name may be made to the Monroe Food Bank or the Monroe Public Library.
