July 9, 1947 – February 6, 2026
Stephen Dean Trerotola passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on Friday, February 6, 2026, in Seattle, Washington, following a year of significant health challenges.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Stephen spent most of his adult life in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. In July 2025, after suffering a major stroke, he moved to Washington State to live with his daughter Katie, son-in-law Bryan, and grandson Haiden, where he was surrounded by family in his final months.
Stephen was born to Michael Alfred (Richard) Trerotola and Kathrine Patricia Pecan, later Trerotola and eventually Walsh.
He was a devoted father, proud grandfather, loving brother, loyal friend, and a lifelong dreamer. Stephen’s passions were wide-ranging: aviation, photography, history, politics, travel, books, good food, and strong coffee enjoyed with biscotti.
Stephen was married twice. He first married Sharon, with whom he welcomed his oldest son, Eric. He later married Lizette, and together they had Michael and Nichole. He also shared a daughter, Katie, with Linda. His four children — Eric, Katie, Michael, and Nichole — were the pride of his life.
Through life’s many chapters, Stephen often spoke of Becky, whom he lost decades ago, as the love of his life. His family finds comfort in imagining them reunited, flying high together once again.
He is also survived by his five grandsons — Jackson, Preston, Haiden, Dexter, and Witcher — as well as his four siblings, Nancy, AJ, Sean, and Michele, along with many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers Dennis and Rick, and by his parents.
Stephen will be remembered for his laughter, his gentle spirit, his deep pride in his Italian heritage, and his constant search for the next adventure. He often dreamed of traveling to Italy to meet relatives and loved sharing stories about the origins of the Trerotola name.
A celebration of life will be held in his memory, with details to be shared in the coming weeks. Friends and family are invited to join the Facebook memorial page for updates and information at https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1Afwi1gThr/?mibextid=wwXIfr
