Thomas Milton Monpas, born October 31, 1941 in Port Angeles, WA, departed this life on July 14, 2021. Growing up on the Olympic Peninsula, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping with his parents and brother. This love of the outdoors continued throughout his life as he skied, hiked, and continued to camp, hunt, and fish sharing this passion with his wife and children.
Tom proudly served his country in the US Army stationed at Ft Benning, GA. He also lived in California for a few years where he had gone to pursue the love of his life, Christie. Then they eventually returned to his beloved Pacific Northwest, keeping Mt. Rainier always in his sight.
He had a long career at Weyerhaeuser company. Then, given his keen financial sense, it’s not surprising that keeping an eye on the markets became one of his favorite pastime once he retired.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Christie, son Scott Monpas and his wife Lynnette of Monroe, daughter Kimberlee Monpas of Bothell, and grandchildren Riley, Cole, Megan, John, and Seth.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on Saturday, September 25th from 2pm-4pm at Hill Funeral Home, 217 E Pioneer, Puyallup, WA 98372.
