Wally was my uncle. My Dad, Ted Sherman was his "little" brother.

I have fond memories of visiting Uncle Wally and Aunt Callie's home and playing cards and games with my cousins. Uncle Wally was always kind and happy to see us.

His devotion to his family and wife was remarkable. I will always remember his smile and laugh. Thank you for the memories. I will carry them with me.

What an amazing legacy Walter leaves behind. I know him best through an amazing young man so directly impacted by both his DNA and character of his soul.. his great grandson Zach. Strong, compassionate, quitely thoughtful and caring. A Warrior for marriage and family with admirable values towards his fellow man. Infectious, spirit lifting sense of humor. I'm honored to know Walter everyday through what shines in Zach.

I fondly remember 17 years ago this week when after leaving the hospital with newborn Zach our first stop was great grandpas work. Walter met us in the parking lot with a huge smile, cradled Zach and walked him around cautiously showing him off with pride. He always had great stories.. that infectious smile,.deep, loyal, loving attention in his eyes and actions to Callie and compassion for everyone each time we saw him. I am thinking and praying for you in this time of both grief and celebration for Walter. I am grateful to Walter Sherman -a life well lived.
