
Bill graduated from Snohomish High School, and joined the US Navy in 1964. He made two WESPAC cruises to Viet Nam on the USS Tripoli, LPH10. The first cruise, he crewed as air crewmen on the ship’s helicopter. Flying into the country and bringing wounded and lost Marines back to the ship. After the Navy, Bill worked in the Lumber Mill Industry the rest of his life, as a Certified Grader. Bill was a member of the Forest Glade Church, the Everett Eagles, Sunrisers CB Club and Moonrakers CB Club. Bill loved hunting, fishing and hiking the high Cascades.
Bill was preceded in death by his first wife Elisabeth Stehl Theiss and daughter Lisa Marie Theiss, father Harry E.W. Theiss and Mother Frances A. Rush Theiss. Survivors, wife Phyllis St. John Theiss, Stepchildren David, Gregg, Jeff, and Tara St. John and seven Grandchildren. Brothers James Theiss, Duane and Deanna Theiss, nephews James, Michael, and Brian Theiss, niece Krista Theiss, and good friend Augusta Lee.
A Memorial Service will be announced later.
