He was the caring, loving father of Therese Boyle, of Redondo Beach, Patricia Hurtado of New York and John Hurtado of Claremont.
He was the beloved grandfather of Laura Hurtado, Bridget and Brendan Boyle and Nicholas Guthammar.
Born and raised in East L.A., Al was the cherished only child of Joe and Connie Hurtado and his grandmother, Pantaleona Garcia.
Al graduated from Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School and later served in the Korean War.
After leaving the Army, he got his Associate's degree from East L.A. City College and later ran a grocery store with his parents in Montebello.
He later joined the Los Angeles Times where he worked as a truck driver for more than 25 years and knew every shortcut in the Southland.
He will be sorely missed and always cherished in our hearts.
