Apolinar “Poly” Diaz, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful servant of God, passed away on August 14th, 2026 leaving behind a rich legacy of love, hard work, and unwavering faith.

Apolinar was born on July 23, 1944, in El Grullo, Jalisco, Mexico, to Angela de Santiago and Eulalio Diaz. From an early age, he learned the value of hard work, using his hands and helping provide for his family as early as four years old. It was in Mexico, while selling paletas, that he met the love of his life, Francisca, at the age of 19. The two were united in holy matrimony in 1963, beginning a remarkable journey that would span 63 years.

In the early 1970s, Apolinar traveled back and forth between Mexico and the United States as a migrant worker, working tirelessly to build a foundation for his growing family. After several years of hard work and sacrifice, he relocated his family to the United States to create new opportunities for his children and future generations.

Known to all as “Poly,” Apolinar was an exceptionally hardworking man and a natural entrepreneur. He spent many years running his own chain-link fence business, sharing the trade and skills he had learned with his children and grandchildren. He later joined Quality Fence Co., where he dedicated many years of service until his well-earned retirement in 2007.

Apolinar spent the last 20 years of his life in Bakersfield, California. He often shared that, as a child, his dream was to one day own a ranch and have animals to care for. In Bakersfield, he was able to fulfill that dream. He spent his days tending to his crops and animals, and nothing brought him greater joy than welcoming his family to enjoy the special place he had created.

Having surrendered his life to the Lord as a young man, Apolinar lived a life deeply rooted in Jesus Christ and the message of salvation. Alongside his beloved Francisca, he did not need loud words to proclaim his faith. Instead, he quietly and consistently shared the Gospel through his character, kindness, humility, and everyday actions.

Apolinar is survived by his devoted wife, Francisca; his five children, Joel, Jesus, Jaime, Camelia, and Jacob; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom will continue to carry forward his enduring legacy of faith, love, hard work, and devotion to family.

Apolinar “Poly” Díaz, esposo, padre y abuelo ejemplar, así como fiel servidor de Dios, falleció el 14 de Agosto del 2026, dejando un legado de amor, trabajo arduo y una fe inquebrantable.

Apolinar nació el 23 de Julio del 1944 en El Grullo, Jalisco, México, hijo de Angela de Santiago y Eulalio Díaz. Desde temprana edad aprendió el valor del trabajo duro, utilizando sus manos y ayudando al sustento de su familia ya a los cuatro años de edad. Fue en México, mientras vendía paletas, donde conoció al amor de su vida, Francisca, a los 19 años. Se casaron en 1963, iniciando una extraordinaria trayectoria de matrimonio que duraría 63 años.

A principios de la década de 1970, Apolinar viajaba entre México y Estados Unidos como trabajador migrante, esforzándose por construir una fundación para su familia. Tras años de trabajo y sacrificio, trasladó a su familia a Estados Unidos para brindar nuevas oportunidades a sus hijos y a las generaciones futuras.

Conocido por todos como “Poly”, Apolinar fue un hombre excepcionalmente trabajador y un emprendedor. Durante muchos años dirigió su propio negocio de cercos de chain link, transmitiendo el oficio y las habilidades que había adquirido a sus hijos y nietos. Más tarde se incorporó a la companía Quality Fence Co., a la que dedicó muchos años de servicio hasta su jubilación en 2007.

Apolinar pasó los últimos 20 años de su vida en Bakersfield, California. Contaba que, de niño, su sueño era algún día un rancho y cuidar animales; en Bakersfield logró hacer realidad ese sueño. Pasaba sus días atendiendo sus cultivos y animales, y nada le daba mayor alegría que recibir a su familia y amistades para que disfrutaran del lugar especial que él había creado.

Tras haber entregado su vida al Señor, Apolinar vivió una vida profundamente arraigada en Jesucristo y en el mensaje de salvación. Junto a su amada Francisca, no necesitaba palabras grandilocuentes para proclamar su fe; por el contrario, compartía el Evangelio de manera silenciosa y constante a través de su carácter, su bondad, su humildad y sus acciones. Apolinar deja a su abnegada esposa, Francisca; a sus cinco hijos: Joel, Jesús, Jaime, Camelia y Jacob; a 15 nietos y a 18 bisnietos, quienes continuarán preservando su perdurable legado de fe, amor, trabajo arduo y devoción a la familia.

Visitation will be held at Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church, 14515 Blaine Ave, Bellflower, CA 90706, US, on September 4, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location on September 4, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
