Of Duarte, daughter of Harold V. Jelm and Bertha A. Jelm passed away at 78, on Friday December 4, in Arcadia. She was born in Irvington, New Jersey on August 27, 1942 and grew up in Azusa, California.
Beverly proudly served in the United States Army just after graduating from high School for 2 years. She was also an alumnus of Azusa High School and Citrus College. She was a single mom of 3 and purchased her home in Duarte in 1974. She began her job at City of Hope in 1975 and retired in 2010 after 35 years.
She enjoyed bowling, was a proud member of the American Legion, and was a loving daughter, mom, and grandmother.
Shortly after retirement she was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney disease and spent 7 years on dialysis. She was a brave warrior and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, Beverly is predeceased by her son Todd. A. Drennen. She is survived by her son Robert E. Drennen of Duarte, her daughter Kathleen A. Fortenberry, and her husband Mark of Eagle Nest, NM; three grandchildren, Joshua J. Chappell, Autumn N. Chappell, and Madison O. Drennen.
A grave side service will be held for her at Live Oak Memorial Park on Monday December 14, at 10am.
