Pop era un hombre de fe que respetaba a Dios y estaba profundamente agradecido por todas las bendiciones de la vida. Sin papeles ni educación formal, Pop construyó un legado basado en el amor y el trabajo… reflejado en sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos, en su feliz matrimonio de 55 años y en las innumerables personas a las que impactó con su trabajo y amistad.

Nacido en El Colomo, Nayarit, México, hijo de Rafael Peña y Martina Guerra. A los nueve años, Pop empezó a trabajar en el campo. A los diecisiete, dejó México y vino a California en busca de oportunidades… y encontró el amor. Conoció al amor de su vida, Juanita, y juntos formaron una hermosa familia de varones. Con Pop como líder, la familia construyó varios negocios donde compartimos recuerdos inolvidables y nos convertimos en pilares de la comunidad.

Cuando Pop llegó a Estados Unidos y comenzó a construir su vida con Juanita, encontrar un buen trabajo parecía imposible para alguien sin documentos. Pop aprovechó las oportunidades, aceptó trabajos desconocidos, se arriesgó, evitó obstáculos, cometió errores y, sobre todo, hizo lo que fuera necesario para mantener a su familia. Pop no permitió que deportaciones repetidas lo separaran de sus sueños. Cuando la vida le impuso cambios —la diabetes, la pérdida de su hijo Juan o la venta de la panadería—, Pop mantuvo fe en Dios y nunca dejó de apoyar a su familia. Después de criar a sus hijos y nietos, cuidó a su papá por diez años con un amor y paciencia incondicional.

La vida puede cambiar, pero el amor de Pop es constante.

Pop dedicó sus últimos años a apoyar incondicionalmente a su esposa. Su amor por ella solo creció con el tiempo. Nunca dejó de llevarle flores de mariposa, de tener citas nocturnas con ella y de prometerle amor eterno en la salud y en la enfermedad. Su labor nunca cesó y solo ahora encontrará descanso en el cielo. Desde allí, nos observa desde lo alto junto a Juan, su padre, mama, hermanos, y los innumerables que lo esperaban.

Hasta el último momento, Pop vivió para amar y proteger a su familia.

Casimiro…Miro…Viejo…El Rey…but more than anything for his family simply “Pop.” The person who showed us how to love and work, how to be a husband, son, in-law, boss, leader, and a great friend.

Pop was a man of faith who respected God and was deeply grateful for all of life's blessings. Without papers or formal education, Pop built a legacy with love and hard-work at the core…reflected in his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, his loving marriage of 55 years, and the countless people impacted by his work and friendship.

Born in El Colomo, Nayarit Mexico to Rafael Peña and Martina Guerra. At nine years old Pop started to work in the campo. At seventeen, he left Mexico and came to California in search of opportunity…and discovered love. He met the love of his life Juanita and raised a beautiful family of boys. With Pop as leader, together the family built multiple businesses where we would share unforgettable memories and become pillars of the community.

When Pop arrived in the US and started building his life with Juanita, finding good work felt impossible for someone without documents. Pop seized opportunities, accepted unfamiliar jobs, took risks, avoided pitfalls, made mistakes, and most importantly, did whatever was necessary to provide for his family. Pop did not allow repeated deportations to keep him from his dreams. When life forced changes - diabetes, loss of his son Juan, or selling the bakery - Pop kept his faith in God and never wavered from supporting his family.

Life may change but Pop’s love is constant.

After raising her children and grandchildren, he cared for his father for ten years with unconditional love and patience.

Pop spent his final years committed evermore to supporting his wife. Pop’s love for his vieja only grew over time. He would never stop bringing Mom her mariposa flowers, regular late-night dates, and the promise to love through sickness and in health. Pop’s work never stopped and only now he will finally find rest in heaven. He is now looking down from heaven with Juan, and his dad, mother, brothers, and the countless others who were waiting to receive Pop.

Until the very end, Pop lived to love and protect his family.
