I was shocked to hear of Curtis' passing. Over the years we worked together, Curtis would be that ray of sunshine in all our lives, brightening every moment with a smile, an uplifting word, a shared laugh -- his laugh would make you laugh instantaneously. His kindness and attitude radiated and touched all those around him - you couldn't help yourself when you were in his presence. My condolences to the Baines family.

Baynes Family,
May you find comfort in knowing that Curtis was a very special person. His friendly, gentle and polite demeanor was a blessing to all of us at MWD. His never ending exploration and joy for music, books, nature and knowledge was evident. A special memory that I will hold onto is, his anticipation of going home during the winter season to be with you. He said the sound of fresh snow, crunching, under his feet was one of his favorite sounds. He knew he was home.

"There is an appointed time for everything.
And there is a time for every event under heaven -
A time to give birth, and a time to die;
A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted."
- Ecclesiastes, 3:1-2

Curtis: You will be greatly missed. May you rest in peace in God's loving arms; and may God bless and protect your family.

Deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Curtis. He was a good friend of mine, a kind soul, and a genuinely outstanding person. We went to several UCLA games together at the Rose Bowl, and talked about his Colorado Buffaloes quite often. I am at a loss for words; I hope he is smiling right now down upon us as he reads all of these tributes.

Rest in Peace old friend.

"Curtis, you were always pleasnt and quick to smile. It was always a pleasure to speak with you. We both shared a love of music,as we both played the saxophone, often talking about getting together to perform a duet at MWD Idol. I am truly sorry that we never got that opportunity. May you rest in peace, and may the music you made while here continue to be heard." Derrek/Los Angeles
