

As a child Deborah was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Kewanee, IL and there she was baptize into the family of Christ in her preteen years.
She came to California in 1970 with her husband Gary and she joined with Monrovia SBC in 1976 where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for 32 years before retiring, she also helped serve in the pantry and visiting the sick.
Deborah received her GED from the St. Louis Job Corp Center for Women in 1969 and an Office Occupation Certificate from Citrus College. She also received a certificate for CNA.
Deborah’s pass time was gardening and arguing with her grandchildren. Her parents John and Louise Evans, brothers Ronald Evans, Larry Evans, John Evans and Mark Evans preceded her in death.
Deborah leaves to cherish precious memories, daughters Veda L. Platt with her spouse Aaron, Theresa L. Mathenia with her partner Javier, grandchildren Michael McKoy, Aaron Platt Jr, Deidra Platt, Genesis Mathenia, Genna Mathenia; great grandson Aden McKoy. Sisters Laureen Evans, Janice Evans and Thelma Pittman. I love you more than there is sand on the beach and stars in the night sky. That’s right Loved ones, good night, Nana will see you in the morning.

A Funeral Service will be held at External Service Location, 925 S Shamrock Ave, Monrovia, CA 91016, US, on June 16, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Committal Service will be held at Turner & Stevens-Live Oak Mortuary, 200 E Duarte Road, Monrovia, CA 91016, US, on June 16, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
