DonnM Campbell Jr., age 59, of Sierra Madre, California, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous year-long battle with glioblastoma. A devoted husband, loving father, gifted engineer, loyal friend, and passionate adventurer, DonnM approached life with curiosity, courage, and a steadfast determination to turn every challenge into an opportunity.

Born on October 8, 1966, in Montebello, California, to Donn M. Campbell Sr. and Emma B. LaHaise Campbell, DonnM lived a life defined by dedication, intelligence, generosity, and deep love for his family. The youngest of three brothers—after Richard and Ron—he was known for his mechanical ingenuity, entrepreneurial spirit, quiet confidence, hearty laugh, and determination to solve any challenge before him.

Above all else, DonnM cherished his family. His greatest love story began in an unexpected way. DonnM and Hope first met as eighth graders at San Gabriel Academy. Life eventually took them in different directions, but 26 years later, in 2006, they found one another again in a funny and unexpected way. Their friendship blossomed into a deep and lasting love, and they were married in January 2007. Together they built a life filled with laughter, countless projects, outdoor adventures, perseverance, unwavering devotion, and a shared passion that carried them through life's greatest joys and greatest challenges. During DonnM's illness, Hope remained faithfully by his side, caring for him with extraordinary love, strength, grace, and compassion every step of the way.

DonnM is survived by his beloved wife, Baby Hope Ladia Chambers Campbell; his cherished son, Dalton Michael Leslie Campbell; his loving stepchildren, Pierce Roy Ladia Chambers, Simon Misha Ladia Hovanessian, and Chelsea Hope Ladia Chambers Gendreau; his son-in-law, Chad Gendreau; and his grandsons, Thomas Gus Chambers Gendreau and Maverick Chad Chambers Gendreau.

He was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Richard Dennis Campbell, and is survived by Richard's wife, Roberta Campbell, and their family: Elyse Horinka and her husband, Brian Horinka; their daughter, Hanna Ellis, and her husband, Chris Ellis; their sons, David and Owen Horinka; Barbara Herlihy and her husband, Jeremy Herlihy; their sons, Jacob and Luke, and daughter, Riley Herlihy; and Emmett Campbell, his wife, Sabrina Campbell, and their daughter, Morgan Campbell.

He is also survived by his middle brother, Ron Campbell, and Ron's wife, Jackie Campbell; their daughter, Nicole Radhi, her husband, Ibraheem Radhi, and their children, Liam, Layla, and Emma Radhi; and their son, Dean Campbell, his wife, Kayla Campbell, and their children, Mason, Brody, and Parker Campbell.

DonnM built a successful career in information technology and business operations before forming partnership at E2DI, Inc., a Monrovia-based professional engineering firm specializing in the design and construction of hospitals, schools, and other essential community facilities. Over 16 years, he became the definition of a versatile leader, contributing to nearly every aspect of the business. His broad expertise, innovative thinking, integrity, and hands-on leadership were instrumental in the company's growth and success. He was known for doing whatever was needed to help the organization and those around him thrive.

Unexpectedly and without warning, DonnM was diagnosed with glioblastoma in July 2025. Having experienced no prior symptoms, the diagnosis came as a profound shock to him and those who loved him. Throughout brain surgery, treatments, and participation in clinical trials, he faced every challenge with remarkable courage, resilience, and determination. His unwavering strength, perseverance, and quiet grace inspired everyone who had the privilege of walking beside him throughout his journey.

Those who knew DonnM will remember his brilliant mind, quick wit, generous heart, adventurous spirit, and remarkable ability to build, fix, and improve just about anything. Whether he was under the hood of a classic hot rod, restoring a dirt bike, out on the water, carving fresh powder on a ski slope, hunting in the great outdoors, or tackling his next home improvement project, he found joy in working with his hands and embracing life's adventures alongside the people he loved.

Yet DonnM's greatest gift was not only his ability to fix, build, and improve things, but the way he used those talents to care for others. With every helping hand, thoughtful solution, and quiet act of generosity, he made life easier for those around him. His humility, kindness, and steady willingness to serve earned him the admiration, trust, and lasting friendship of all who knew him.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the medical teams at City of Hope Duarte, especially Dr. Behnam Badie, Dr. Keng Lam, Julie Kilpatrick, and Nicole Peeke, whose expertise and compassionate care meant so much throughout DonnM's illness. Heartfelt thanks are also extended to the dedicated VITAS Healthcare Covina Hospice Team for providing comfort and support during his final days. Special thanks to Franklin Mac Ladia for the exceptional care he provided during DonnM’s final months.

The family is deeply grateful to the Ladia, Campbell, and Bryant families, as well as the many friends, neighbors, coworkers, and prayer partners who supported DonnM and Hope with meals, visits, prayers, and countless acts of kindness.

A special expression of gratitude is extended to Pastor J.P. O'Connor of the West Covina Seventh-day Adventist Church, who faithfully visited, prayed with DonnM, and provided spiritual comfort during his final days.

Though DonnM's presence is deeply missed, his family finds comfort in the Blessed Hope—the promise that, through faith in Jesus Christ, they will see him again at the resurrection and rejoice together in the gift of everlasting life. His life was marked by purpose, adventure, generosity, perseverance, and love, and his memory will remain a blessing until that joyful reunion.

DonnM will be laid to rest alongside his beloved parents, where they now rest together in peace.

Following the services, family and friends are warmly invited to gather at their home in Sierra Madre for light refreshments as we continue celebrating DonnM's life by sharing stories, laughter, and cherished memories.

In keeping with DonnM's adventurous spirit and love of sunshine, guests are invited—though certainly not required—to wear light, cheerful, vacation or resort-inspired attire as we celebrate a life well lived.
