Francisco Alfredo Soto
November 3, 1948 – March 8, 2019
Francisco Soto was born on November 3, 1948 in Saucillo Chihuahua, Mexico. When he was 3 years old his mother and father decided to move to the city of Juarez, Chihuahua. Francisco grew up to be a young man and decided to come to the United States and make a better life for himself. As he grew older he continuously traveled back and forth from Los Angeles to Juarez. In 1966 on his third trip back to Juarez he met the love of his life Juana Gauzin, he told her that she was the most beautiful woman that he had ever seen. In 1967 they both decided to elope and stay together. In the year of 1968 Francisco was in Los Angeles trying to make money to send to his wife Juana so that she could join him in Los Angeles and be with him. At this time he and his wife Juana already had their eldest child and were expecting their second child. Francisco started working at a company that manufactured military bombs and was there for a couple of years. During this time he was not making enough money to pay for a place for his family to live so he decided to live with his parents. Throughout the years Francisco had to move his family from home to home until he was able to rent an apartment for $100 a month. Francisco was from job to job trying to make ends meet and in 1975 he found a job with a company called U.S. Pipe that manufactured underground cement pipes. This is when he decided to buy his home in the wonderful city of Duarte. In 1983 Francisco decided to give his beautiful wife the wedding they never had. Fifteen years and 5 children later, they were finally married. Francisco worked for U.S. Pipe for ten years until they closed the company. When the company closed, he worked for the union all over the state until he landed a job at the Santa Anita Race Track in Arcadia California. This is where he worked until the unfortunate happened to Francisco who had a mild stroke and heart attack while at work. He had to leave work and finally retire from the work force. After retiring Francisco attended Berean Bible Baptist Church where he accepted Christ as his Savior and at his home in Duarte with his lovely wife and the rest of his family. Francisco will be greatly missed but he will always be remembered as a great husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be in our hearts FOREVER!!
