Gloria Ramirez Cuevas

Gloria Ramirez Cuevas, 68, passed away on June 29, 2026. Born on October 8, 1957, Gloria grew up in Jalisco, Mexico, where she learned early the value of perseverance and honest work. She left middle school to help support her family, meeting life’s demands with resilience, courage, and a steady determination that never sought recognition, only the chance to do what was needed.

Over the years, Gloria worked as a factory worker and later as a street vendor—roles that reflected her hard-working spirit and her willingness to do whatever it took to provide. Those who knew Gloria understood that her devotion was not spoken in grand declarations, but shown in daily sacrifices, in patient endurance, and in the generous way she made room for others even when her own days were full.

Family remained at the center of Gloria’s life. She was the mother of her son, Javier Leal (born 1994), and she carried that love with a steadfast loyalty and selfless care that shaped the way she lived and the way she gave. Gloria was also a cherished presence to friends and neighbors, known for being gentle, compassionate, and thoughtful—someone who could be counted on to listen, to speak with honesty, and to offer wise advice when it was most needed.

Gloria’s faith was a guiding light throughout her life. A member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, she approached her beliefs with a faithful heart and a quiet strength. She often expressed her conviction in simple, profound words: “Jesus suffered for our sins so why should I not do the same for him.” Her prayer life reflected a devotion that sustained her and inspired those around her.

In the everyday moments, Gloria found joy and connection. She enjoyed solving puzzles, listening to music, singing, and playing games on her phone. She brought warmth and humor into the lives of those around her, and her smile and laughter were gifts that lingered long after a conversation ended. As a community member of Cambia Apartments, Gloria was beloved not only for her presence, but for the kindness she extended so naturally to friends and neighbors alike.

Visitation will be held at Turner & Stevens-Live Oak Mortuary, 200 E Duarte Road, Monrovia, CA 91016, US, on July 24, 2026, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at Turner & Stevens-Live Oak Mortuary on July 24, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm. A Committal Service will follow at Live Oak Memorial Park, 200 E Duarte Road, Monrovia, CA 91016, US, on July 24, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
