Jacob Bock

September 24, 1932 - July 13, 2026

Jacob Bock passed away on July 13, 2026, with a final kiss from his loving wife, Carmen. He leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, generosity, faith, and devotion to those he loved.

Jacob was born on September 24, 1932, in Osijek, Yugoslavia, to Jakob and Anna Bock. His early years were shaped by the hardships of World War II. During that difficult period, he married the love of his life at the time, Wilma. While living in Germany, they began building a family together.

In 1951, Jacob immigrated to the United States in search of opportunity and a brighter future. He made the journey with Wilma, their daughter, Traudi, his parents, and his three brothers. Like so many immigrants of his generation, Jacob arrived with little more than hope, determination and an unwavering work ethic.

Through years of dedication and sacrifice, Jacob fulfilled a lifelong dream by founding Bock Machine Company. His business became a reflection of the industrious qualities that defined him.

He is survived by his daughter, Traudi, her husband Rick, and their children and grandchildren; his son Roy, his wife Kathy, and their children; his son Jack, his wife Cindy, and their children; and his son Jim, his wife Val, and their daughters, Brianna and Jillian.

In 2003, Jacob’s life entered a beautiful new chapter when he met Carmen Baltazar while volunteering at Santa Teresita Hospital. Their shared compassion for serving others blossomed into a lasting friendship that became a beautiful love story. At this time in his life, many came to know him simply as Jake.

Together, Jake and Carmen embraced life with gratitude and adventure. They traveled extensively, enjoying cruises around the world and creating cherished memories together.

Jake will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Carmen; her daughter, Cecile, her husband, John, and their children, Meg, Harrison, and Grace; and by Carmen’s son, Erik, and his children, Ethan, Keerstin, and Vince, all of whom embraced Jake like family.

Those who knew Jacob will remember not only what he accomplished, but how he made people feel: welcomed, respected, and loved.

A Rosary will be held at Saint Joseph Chapel, 819 Buena Vista St, Duarte, CA 91010, US, on August 7, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Mass at Saint Joseph Chapel (Santa Teresita), 819 Buena Vista St, Duarte, CA 91010, US, on August 7, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

A Committal Service will take place at Turner & Stevens-Live Oak Mortuary, 200 E Duarte Road, Monrovia, CA 91016, US, on August 7, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
