Jo Ann Plamondon, 78, passed away on September 27, 2026. She was born on October 22, 1947. A resident of Costa Mesa, California, Jo Ann will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who knew her.
Jo Ann grew up in Monrovia, Ca with her sister Catherine (Cathy) and her parents, Betty and Gerald (Jerry) St. George. She attended catholic school until high school and graduated from Monrovia High School. She also carried with her the steady gift of lifelong friendship, holding dear the bonds formed early on with Lynn Cervantes and Sue Holstein.
Jo Ann began her working life as a hairdresser, bringing care and attention to others in a way that would remain a hallmark throughout her life. She later built a long and accomplished career in banking, dedicating over 20 years to the profession and advancing from Teller to AVP and Trainer—roles that reflected both her resilience and her supportive nature. After leaving the bank, she worked as an office manager for Jan’s Towing until she retired due to her stroke.
Family was at the center of Jo Ann’s life. She had three children—Shannon, Kellie, and Mike—from her first husband, Carl Allen. Years later, she met and married Bob Plamondon. Jo Ann was a beloved and loyal presence in her family’s lives, known for her kind-hearted generosity and compassionate steadiness. She was a wonderful mother-in-law to Shannon’s husband Gene, Kellie’s ex-husband, and Mike’s wife Heidi. She was also a devoted grandmother to six grandchildren: Tanner (Shannon and Gene’s son), Delila and Liliana (Kellie’s daughters), and Haley, Kiley, and Carter (Mike and Heidi’s children).
Jo Ann found joy in the simple, meaningful rhythms of time spent together. As a family, they would go camping. She loved to read, enjoyed playing Bunco with her friends, and took pleasure in shopping and going out to eat with friends and family. In every setting, her warmth was unmistakable—often expressed through a quick wit and a feisty spark that could lighten a room, even as her care for others remained constant.
