John was a long time resident of Pasadena, Ca but also lived in Phoenix, Az for quite some years before returning to California in 2004, living out his life in Arcadian Assisted Living facility Arcadia, Ca.
John enjoyed reading, listening to an array of music from Motown to classical, and watching movies, and was an avid UCLA fan. He also enjoyed participating in group activities such as dancing, singing, even taking part in the civil rights protests in 2025 with other facility residents.
John is survived by brother James (Anita) and brother David (Caroline), many cousins, nieces, nephews, brother and sister in-laws.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Mary Louise and his sister Carole.
John will be laid to rest near his family on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 10:00am at Rose Hills Memorial Park at 3888 Workman Mill Rd., Whittier Ca 90601 in the Garden of Commemoration.
A reception will be held at Sierra Madre Women’s Club at 550 W. Sierra Madre Blvd at 1:00.
