Mario Ernst Miscavish, a devoted family man, successful entrepreneur, and passionate sports fan, passed away on April 13, 2026, in San Dimas, California, at the age of 81. Born in Munich, Germany, in 1944, Mario assumed the role of protector for his mother, Teresa Miscavish, from an early age. In 1960, at the age of 16, he immigrated to the United States after his mother fell in love with Chester Miscavish, a member of the U.S. Air Force.
Upon his arrival, Mario quickly developed a deep appreciation for the opportunities and core values of his new home. With an unwavering work ethic, he turned his passion for logistics into a thriving career as the founder of M&M Trucking. His professional success was matched only by the intensity with which he loved his family and his many hobbies.
A fixture in the Monrovia community, Mario was often found coaching youth soccer and baseball, sharing his love for the games with the next generation. He lived life to the fullest, whether he was cheering for the Dodgers, Kings, and Lakers, playing basketball, or testing his luck in Las Vegas. He was an elite bowler, achieving the rare feat of multiple 300 games, including back-to-back perfect scores.
Mario’s adventurous spirit led him and his wife to explore the world, frequenting cruise ships and traveling to far-reaching destinations. He cherished time outdoors—from river trips and camping to boating and gardening—and was the heart of every family barbecue. Known for his competitive spirit during game nights and his love for his dogs, Mario’s greatest joy was simply being surrounded by those he loved.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Gloria Miscavish; his children, Carolyn Naylor, Joanne Russell, Michael Miscavish, and Lawrence Miscavish; and his cherished grandchildren, Alyssa Kroeger, Ryan Naylor, Mikaela Naylor, Christian Russell, Lucas Miscavish, and Jaxon Miscavish. He also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Rohan and Kaya Kroeger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Teresa Miscavish.
"A life lived with passion, a family loved with intensity, and a legacy that will bloom forever in the ones left"
