Nimmi’s life was rooted in her abiding faith in Jesus Christ and distinguished by her love and devotion to her children, granddaughters, extended family, and friends.
Nimmi was born in the Fiji Islands and moved to the United States with her family. She loved being a mother and was deeply committed to raising her three children, giving them all that she had. In her 30s, she began attending a Christian church, bringing her three children, her niece Artika, and her nephew Alveen, whom she loved and considered her own. She instilled in her children the importance of faith in Jesus Christ, love for family, and the value of meaningful relationships.
Known to many as “Mama,” Nimmi embraced not only her children’s friends but also those who had lost their parents or experienced strained family relationships. Each person held a special place in her heart. Through her warmth, generosity, and unconditional love, she made them feel welcomed, valued, and part of her family.
Nimmi was also known for her feisty spirit and determination. She had a way of facing life with strength and resilience, which she attributed to Jesus Christ. Her feistiness was part of what made her uniquely Nimmi—someone who loved deeply, stood firm in what she believed, and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Beneath that spirited nature was a heart full of love, generosity, passion, and compassion for others.
The things that brought Nimmi the greatest happiness were her children, granddaughters, relationships with loved ones, and cooking meals for others. She devoted much of her ministry to preparing meals for others and encouraging them in their faith. She generously shared words of wisdom and encouragement, inspiring those around her to keep moving forward in life.
Nimmi’s generous spirit leaves a lasting influence on generations of loved ones and all who were blessed to share life with her. Her faith was reflected not only in her words but also in the way she lived, served, and loved others. Whether through a home-cooked meal, a word of encouragement, a listening ear, or a heartfelt expression of love, Nimmi had a special way of reminding people that they mattered and that they were never alone.
Nimmi leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, love, strength, and compassion. Her memory lives on in the countless lives she touched, the hearts she helped restore, the people she welcomed as family, and the family she cherished so dearly. The love she gave so freely and the example she set through her faith in Jesus Christ will continue to live on through the generations she leaves behind.
Nimmi is survived by her daughters, Veenita Munoz (Jordan) and Monita Singh; her son, Pranesh Singh; and her two granddaughters, Kyla and Selah. She is also survived by three sisters and one brother.
“Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”
