Patricia was born in 1933 in McLeansboro, Illinois, the cherished only daughter of Estella Carr and Burris Carr. Patricia had four brothers, Charles, Ken, Harold and Lonnie. From a young age, she embraced the role of caretaker, a calling that would define her entire life and career as a dedicated homemaker.
On September 17, 1955, she married her beloved spouse, Anthony John Esposito. They shared a remarkable 60 years of marriage before Anthony's passing, building a foundation of unconditional love. They began their life together in Chicago, and eventually moved to Hinsdale, Illinois, where their daughter Becky attended high school.
Patricia fiercely loved her family, always putting them first. When Becky and her husband, Michael Daugherty, moved to California and started a family, Pat and Tony made the journey west. This selfless move ensured they could be close to their grandchildren, attending every activity and event—a constant, cheering presence in their lives.
Patricia was a dedicated daughter, sister, mom, aunt, grammy, great-aunt, and great-grammy. She is survived by her daughter, Becky Daugherty, and son-in-law, Michael Daugherty; her grandchildren, Taylor Hagen (Ryan Hagen) and Alexandra Diemer (Blake Diemer); and her great-granddaughter, Lyla Hagen. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom always made time for their Aunt Pat.
The family extends its deepest gratitude for the compassionate care provided by Vitas Hospice and the loving staff at Westminster Gardens Retirement Community.
A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held for family members at a later date.
