January 12, 1960 – August 27, 2026
Sandra Teresa Gonzales, beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, aunt, friend, and devoted follower of Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully in her home in Monrovia, California, on August 27, 2026, at the age of 66.
Sandra was born on January 12, 1960, to Tomasa Rubio, whom was remarkable single mother. She grew up in a small mining town of Superior, Arizona. Sandra eventually came to California, where she met the love of her life, Luis. They met when Sandra was just 18 years old and built a life together rooted in love, family, and faith. They were married on October 2, 1984, and shared a lifetime of love and memories together.
Sandra was, above all, a devoted wife and mother. She was a mother to Luis Jr., her daughters Sarah and Sandy. Being a mother was one of the greatest joys of her life. To say that she was a great mother is an understatement—she was one in a million. She poured her heart into her family and always found ways to make the people she loved feel special.
Her love extended deeply to her grandchildren, Jocelyn, Logan, Bella, and Jasper. Sandra treasured her title as Nana and cherished every moment she had with them. She loved watching them grow, loving them, teaching them, and making memories with them. Her grandchildren will forever carry the love and faith she gave them.
Sandra was deeply devoted to the Lord. She loved Jesus with all her heart, trusted Him throughout her life, and raised her children and grandchildren to know and love the Lord. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about; it was woven into the way she loved her family and cared for others. Her favorite Bible verse was Jeremiah 29:11:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Sandra had a generous spirit and a beautiful way of making ordinary moments feel extraordinary. She loved celebrating every holiday, and her family could always count on a special Valentine’s Day breakfast. She loved fall, shopping, lunches, good food, and sharing coffee with her husband and the people she loved. She was a wonderful cook, and her husband will deeply miss her meals—and even more, the love that went into everything she made.
Sandra had a gift for presentation and for making people feel cared for. Even the simplest thing became special in her hands because of the thought and love she put into it. She was always thinking about how she could make someone else feel loved, remembered, and special. She found joy in the simple things in life because she knew how to make those simple things beautiful.
She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her warm hugs, her generosity, and the light and joy she brought into every room. She touched many lives through her friendship, her kindness, her faith, and her willingness to give of herself to others. She loved being a wife, a mother, a Nana, a sister, a family member, a friend, and a member of her church.
Sandra is survived by her beloved husband, Luis; her children, Luis Jr., Sarah, and Sandy; her grandchildren, Jocelyn, Logan, Bella, and Jasper; her brothers, Ernie and Roy; her Aunt Rachel; her cousin Molly; her niece Ophelia and many more nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, and friends who loved her dearly.
Her husband will miss his beloved wife and the love of his life. Her children will miss their mother. Her grandchildren will miss their Nana. Her family and friends will miss her laughter, her smile, her warm hugs, and the special way she made everyone feel loved.
Above all, Sandra leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, family, and a relationship with Jesus Christ that will continue through the lives of all those she touched. She loved and trusted the Lord until her very last day.
Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort knowing that Sandra is healed and home with the Lord she loved and trusted throughout her life. She is resting in the arms of Jesus Christ, her Lord, Savior and beloved King.
Until we meet again, Nana. We love you, we miss you, and we will carry your love with us forever.
