Stephen M. Romero was born October 30, 1948 to Salome and Frank Romero.
Steve, as most friends knew him, was youngest of five brothers and sisters;
Paul, Pancho, Mariquita and Elisa.
Steve is survived by his loving wife Irene, sons Jose and Stephen (Steph), and
Grandson Antonio (Tony)
Steve Romero was drafted into the Vietnam War at the tender age of 18. In
the jungels of Vietnam he became a war hero, wounded on the 4th of July on
the front line.
Upon return, he enrolled in college where he jumped to the front line of the
Chicano Movement as a leader in M.E.C.H.A the Raza Unida Political Party, and
the Brown Berets.
Stephen M. Romero began his prominent law career as an attorney in 1976.
During which time he defended many people in their time of need. Some of his
work included the biggest murder trial in South Pasadena history. Which
Ultimately became a book entitled "Smoked.". In 1993, Stephen M. Romero was
deemed an honored member of "Quien es Quien" in US Congress.
Stephen M. Romero passed away in his sleep on July 2, 2013
