William Svitek was born in Cepin, Croatia on May 2, 1945 to Mr. Vinko Svitek and Mrs. Rozalija Loch. Bill as friends called him was 1 of 9 children. As a teen he served in the Croatian army as a mechanic. In 1968 he decided to leave his beloved country for a better life in the United States. In 1968 he settled in Monrovia, California where he was resident for 32 years and then moving to Walnut, California. He was a Conventional Mill Machinist for 50 years and loved it. He meet Edna Pereira in 1968 and they were married in Monrovia, on July 26th 1969 and were blessed with two children, Joseph and Christine. His children went on to give him two beautiful grandchildren Logan and Carissa.
Bill was a very kind, loving, generous and giving person. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved telling jokes. He enjoyed playing soccer in Croatia and in his later years he loved watching the Dodgers play baseball. He loved being around his family and grandchildren, as they were the center of his world.
Bill was surround by his loved ones when he passed peacefully on August 5, 2018. The joy and laughter he gave to his family will always be held close to their hearts. His family will always remember his kind smile, beautiful accent and be thankful for all the wonderful stories and memories he shared with them.
There will be a graveside service for Bill on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 10 am.
