Consuelo Romero Velasquez

Beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, and friend passed away peacefully at her sweet home that she loved so much on August 3, 2025, at the age of 75. She was surrounded by her loving family. Connie was born in El Paso, Texas, in 1949 to Osvaldo and Consuelo Romero. She is the proud older sister of Linda, Rosie, Sandra, Griselda, and Osvaldo Jr.

Connie met and quickly fell in love with Eduardo Velasquez in 1967 when they met in Bakersfield, California. They were married on March 30, 1968, and were happily married for 57 years. After they settled into life in Los Angeles and in Montebello, California, where they lived in the same house from 1985 until her death.

Connie was mother to Ruby, Angel, and Eric, and a wonderful grandmother to her 5 grandchildren: Michael, Jeremy, Nathan, Zachary, and Dana. One of her distinct joys was seeing them grow into young adults and sharing many of her passions with them, including her faith in God. Connie cherished attending church and had a strong faith in God. She also loved her son-in-law, Martin, and daughter-in-law Michelle as if they were her own. She was overjoyed with becoming a great-grandmother to her first great-grandchild, Baby Chase, who is expected to arrive soon.

We will miss gathering in a family circle with her in the kitchen to pray her favorite prayer, The Our Father, before leaving her home. We will miss her taking pictures at every event, especially her favorite, those beautiful sunsets she always enjoyed. We will miss her dancing, no matter what the occasion, and of course, being the life of the party.

Connie touched the lives of so many, including her nephews, nieces, friends, and co-workers, whom she loved so much. Our beloved, shining, happy light of our lives and the star of our hearts, leaves us smiling with so many wonderful memories through our tears.
